Sharon Bamber Fine ArtPainting the Living Landscape
About the Collection: A Creekside Walk
Water and life are bound together and here, in the mountains of the Rockies, Selkirks and Monashees, that intimate connection is undeniable. The water that surrounds us here is as wild and diverse as the life it supports.
This body of work celebrates this connection but is also inspired by concern. Many pressures are being applied to the watersheds, from land uses such as forestry, hydropower, agriculture, mining and recreation to climate change.
Look at what we have. Such beauty and richness of life. Careful monitoring, planning and ecosystem stewardship is needed. I join my voice with Hopkins in his impassioned plea for wildness and wet.
